Questions before you apply?

Training FAQ.

Everything people usually want to know before taking the next step.

Can I do a course if I’m a complete beginner?

Yes. Beginners Microstrokes is designed for people starting from the foundations, and we also welcome students who already work in beauty but are new to SPMU. If you’re unsure which course to start with, apply and choose “I need advice”.

How long is each course?

Courses are normally spread across around four weeks. We prefer this to a rushed two-day format because it gives you time to learn, practise, complete homework, return with questions and build confidence through practical work. The exact pace can be tailored around your progress.

Is training one-to-one?

Yes. Our courses are taught 1:1 so Andrea can focus on your technique, confidence and the areas you personally need more help with.

Are the courses accredited?

Yes, the academy courses are ABT Accredited. Certification is issued when the required training and practical standard have been completed.

Do I get a kit?

Yes. Full professional kits are included. Machine-based courses include the machine/equipment stated within that course package, and Microstrokes includes the practical tools required for training and continued practice.

Do I work on real models?

Yes. You build technique first and move onto supervised model work when ready. Practical experience is a key part of the way we train.

What happens if I don’t feel ready after the planned sessions?

We don’t want students to feel pushed through just because a date has arrived. Your work is reviewed, feedback is given and additional practice/model guidance can continue where needed so you can work towards the required standard.

Do I have to do case studies?

Yes. Case studies help show that you can repeat the technique outside the initial teaching environment. You send evidence back for review and receive feedback on what to improve.

Do you support me after I qualify?

Yes. Ongoing support is a big part of Boss Brows Academy. Students can come back with questions, send work for guidance and ask for help as they start offering the treatment.

Do you help with the business side too?

Yes. We can guide you with treatment photos, social media, presenting your work, pricing/launch ideas and building confidence as you start introducing the treatment to clients.

Can I spread the cost?

Yes. Once your application has been accepted and dates agreed, a minimum £500 payment can secure course dates under our staged payment route. The full balance must be paid before training starts. You can also ask what third-party payment options are currently available.

Is the £500 a refundable deposit?

It is a booking payment used to secure agreed course dates when using the staged payment route. Payment-plan payments are subject to the written payment and cancellation terms provided before enrolment, including the applicable non-refundable terms.

Can I book all three courses?

Yes. The Mega Academy Package includes Beginners Microstrokes, Machine Brows and Lip Blush for £3,250. The Brow Duo combines Microstrokes and Machine Brows for £2,500.

Do I have to complete all three together?

No. You can start with one course and add another later. We can help you choose a sensible training route based on your goals.

Will I be able to get insurance after training?

Accredited training can support your insurance application, but individual insurers set their own requirements. You are responsible for arranging appropriate professional insurance and checking any local licensing or registration requirements before treating paying clients.

Where is the academy?

Training takes place at Boss Brows by AJP, 9 Overton Arcade, Wrexham, LL13 8HR.
